*IMPORTANT:

        New boating safety education requirement went into effect May 1, 2010.

  ·         Anyone younger than 26 years old and wants to operate a vessel powered by a 10 horsepower or greater motor on public waterways, unless they are otherwise in compliance, must take the course.

  ·         The course is offered free at different sites in Montgomery, Anson & Stanly counties. Also offered online for a fee.
