NEWS

• The CFA annual meeting and election was held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 6th. Larry Emmert and Mark McLean were elected to two-year terms.
  
  
• Thanks to departing Directors Tom Sargent and Dolly Tyndall for all their hard work on behalf of CFA.
  
  
• The newly elected board chose Larry Neyens as Chair and Dannie Cox as Vice Chair.  John Olmstead, Noel Nicely, Tom Miller, and Andy King were appointed as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary respectively.
  
  
• The Pool is open seven days a week from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and is staffed with a pool attendant.  When you arrive please be prepared to sign in.  We are selling soft drinks, bottled water and a small assortment of snacks at the pool.  Please be aware that after hours/ unauthorized pool use could jeopardize CFA’s pool license and trespassers will be prosecuted.
  
  
• The RV Sites at the campground are full and a waiting list is being maintained at the office. There are still tent sites available.
  
  
• There are currently 6 boat slips available for rental in the CFA marina.  Contact the office or Dannie Cox if you would like to rent one.
  
  
• Campers should note that the clubhouse basement bathrooms are the safest havens we have in the event of a severe storm. These rooms should always be unlocked, but if they are locked for some unforeseen reason, the guard can unlock them.
  
  
• There are 14 houses in various stages of construction and several more that will be breaking ground throughout the summer months.
  
  
• The Entertainment Committee needs volunteers to assist with the July 4th party.  Please contact Michelle King or the office if you are interested in helping.
  
  
• Would you like to join a book club in Carolina Forest?  We meet the third Friday evening of every other month, January through November.  Members rotate in the selection of the book and lead the discussion.  On July 17th we will discuss “Earthly Pleasures” by Karen Neches.  Please contact Barbara Miller @ 704-847-8210 or bbmiller@carolina.rr.com for more information

  IMPROVEMENTS

• Security camera upgrades are complete for Lake in the Pines, including new monitoring servers.  To improve security, cameras have been installed at the marina.
  
  
• Road paving/patching continues.
  
  
• Dannie Cox completed the demolition and removal of the tennis courts.  This was done at his own expense with his own equipment and the help of Robert Collins, Larry Neyens, Wanda Cox, Larry Emmert, and Hank Davis.   We’d like to thank Dannie and all these folks who helped with this project!  Future uses for the vacant site are now under consideration by the Recreational Parks Committee.  Please submit any ideas for use of this area to the CFA Office.

ENTERTAINMENT

• July 4th, Independence Day Celebration
  • Children's Fishing Derby @ 10:00 am on Floating Pier  (Ages 12 and under)
  • Golf Cart, ATV, Lawn Mower Parade @ 12:00 Start @ Gatehouse. – Ride to Clubhouse for Judging
  • Games For Kids from 2:00 to 3:00
  • Dinner will be served from 3:00 till 5:00

  RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. THIS ASSURES ENOUGH FOOD IS ORDERED.

  Please contact CFA Office BEFORE Thursday July, 2nd
  
  Members in good standing and anyone residing in that household can make reservations and will be issued complimentary tickets. Ticket price is $5.00 for ages 12 and older and $3.00 for 11 and younger for guests of members in good standing
  Anyone wishing to eat that does not make a reservation will be served after all ticket holders have been served.
